The Mathematics Research Data Initiative (MaRDI) is one of the consortia within the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). It aims to make mathematical research data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR). The initiative seeks to enable the development of mathematical services, standardize semantic relations, and foster a community culture around mathematical research data.

Task Area 4 (TA4): Cooperation with Other Disciplines serves as a bi-directional bridge between mathematical developments and other scientific disciplines. It facilitates the integration of mathematical models, methods, and algorithms into various fields, ensuring that these tools and solutions are accessible and applicable across scientific domains. TA4 emphasizes the documentation and analysis of interdisciplinary workflows, the standardization of mathematical model descriptions, and the space for interdisciplinary exchange. Notably, TA4 develops 1) MaRDMO, a plugin for the Research Data Management Organiser to document interdisciplinary workflows connecting various services, and 2) MathModDB, an ontology and knowledge graph to document and share mathematical models in a standardized way. By establishing strong collaborations with other NFDI consortia and extending its services to new disciplines, TA4 aims to enhance the impact of mathematical research data on broader scientific research and innovation.
