The Research Campus MODAL (Mathematical Optimization and Data Analysis Laboratories) held its first internal research symposium on March 9, 2016. Presentations of the four MODAL labs (MedLab, RailLab, SynLab, and GasLab) about their scientific setups and their latest results were complemeted by a round of table talks to foster scientific exchange, to explore new research directions, and to improve the personal understanding among the 40+ researchers of the Campus. Stimulating talks created an atmosphere of pioneer spirit that everybody enjoyed. May this spirit be with us!
