On the annual meeting of the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) in Hannover, the "Mobility Inside" project on the digital networking of public passenger transport was introduced to the audience. The aim of the project is to enable the completely digital planning, booking and paying of the entire travel chain. The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) supports this initiative and funds a cooperative project for the planning of travel chains. The funding decisions have been handed over during the VDV Annual Meeting by Federal Minister Alexander Dobrindt.
Further project partners are INFRA Dialog Deutschland GmbH and the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
ZIB contributes to the development of algorithms suggesting travel routes in the shortest possible time, which are optimal in terms of various criteria such as travel time, number of vehicle changes or costs.
