Jonas Schweiger of ZIB's Energy Network Optimization Group defended his thesis titled "Exploiting structure in non-convex quadratic optimization and gas network planning under uncertainty" at TU Berlin. His work on quadratic mixed-integer optimization orginated from the ForNE Research Network Cooperation with Germany's largest gas network operator OpenGrid Europe and was completed on a research position at IBM Research in Bologna.
